Ambassador Xiao Qian Attends the Launch Ceremony of the China-Australia Program for Youth Exchange (CAPYE)
On June 10, the launch ceremony of the China-Australia Program for Youth Exchange (CAPYE) was held at the Chinese Embassy in Australia. Ambassador Xiao Qian attended the ceremony and delivered a speech. Over 100 guests were present, including Wang Jiayi, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Education of China, heads of multiple Australian universities, scholars, and youth representatives.
Ambassador Xiao Qian noted that China-Australia educational exchanges enjoy a profound foundation. The newly launched exchange platform integrates study tours, competitions, and cultural experiences to build a bridge for young people of both countries. He encouraged the youth of both nations to strive to be practitioners of inter-civilizational mutual learning, builders of friendship bridges, and pioneers of pragmatic cooperation, so that China-Australia friendship can be passed down from generation to generation.
Vice Minister Wang Jiayi pointed out that CAPYE is an innovative practice to deepen bilateral engagement. He extended a sincere invitation to Australian youth to visit China and experience authentic, vibrant Chinese culture firsthand.
The program was jointly initiated by the Chinese Embassy in Australia and the China Center for International People-to-People Exchange, Ministry of Education. Focusing on three major fields—sports, music, and academics—it aims to provide an immersive exchange experience for young people of both countries.
